Scale WY05 £27,711 - £30,060 / £14.36 - £15.58 per hour
(Pro-rata £20,783.25 - £22,545)

West Yorkshire Trading Standards Calibration Service is looking for an enthusiastic individual to drive and operate our weighbridge test unit as well as assisting with other calibration duties as required.
The primary role of the post holder will be to drive and operate the weighbridge test unit, which comprises of a purpose built 44000kg articulated vehicle carrying calibrated weights and forklift truck.
The post holder will also provide support and assistance to complete a range of tasks relating to the inspection, calibration and verification of weighing and measuring equipment.
The post holder must be prepared to travel around the country on a regular basis to meet the needs of national contracts; occasional overnight stays are required. A full driving licence category C and E (formerly HGV1 & HGV2) along with up-to-date CPC and forklift truck licence (Counterbalance) are essential for this post, however we are willing to provide appropriate forklift truck training and CPC training if required. Basic ICT and administration skills would also be an advantage.
There will also be a requirement for this post holder to work additional days from time to time to cover demand for the weighbridge test unit and to cover leave and any sickness of the other Weighbridge Test Unit Driver.
Applicants should note that the post requires the repeated manual handling of heavy equipment up to 25kg in weight, therefore candidates must have a level of fitness to undertake the requirements of the role.
